Russian Foreign Minister Outlines Agenda of Georgian Visit

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on January 19, that he will discuss broad range of issues related to the bilateral relations between Georgia and Russia during his visit in Tbilisi, scheduled for February 18.

At a news conference in Moscow, Sergey Lavrov listed comprehensive framework agreement between Georgia and Russia, as well as proposal over setting up joint anti-terrorism center in Georgia among those issues planned to be discussed during his upcoming visit in Georgia.

?Unfortunately, talks about the framework agreement has not been held for several months already. I hope that before my visit [Georgian and Russia officials] will discuss this issue,? Sergey Lavrov said.

?The issue of setting up joint anti-terrorism centers with the use of the infrastructure which currently is available in Georgia, including infrastructure of the Russian military bases [deployed in Georgia], will also be discussed,? the Russian Foreign Minister said.

Georgia proposed last June to create a joint Russian-Georgian anti-terrorism center to replace Russia?s two military bases in Georgia.
