Burjanadze: Crisis will End Soon

Parliamentary Chairperson Nino Burjanadze told reporters on May 5, after talks with President Saakashvili that Adjara crisis ?will soon be over.?

?I hope Adjarian leader Aslan Abashidze will make the only right step and will resign. I held phone talks with Mr. Abashidze yesterday and advised to resign,? Nino Burjanadze said.

She also said that President Saakashvili will comment in coming minutes regarding the situation in Adjara. ?He will make comment also regarding the security guarantees, which the central authorities are ready to offer Mr. Abashidze,? she added.

?Secretary of Russian National Security Council Igor Ivanov will arrive in Tbilisi and then hold talks with Mr. Abashidze in Batumi. I think he [Igor Ivanov] will advise Aslan Abashidze to resign and offer him to leave for Moscow,? Nino Burjanadze said.
