Putin, Saakashvili Discuss Adjara

Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili spoke with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on May 5 by phone, according to chief of Georgian President’s Administration Irakli Chubinishvili.

Situation in Adjara, where the protesters demand resignation of the leader of Autonomous Republic Aslan Abashidze’s, was discussed during the conversation.

“The talks are held to put an end to the crisis [in Adjara] peacefully  and as soon as possible,” Chubinishvili told the reporters. “I can not say any other details,” he added.
