Chief of Customs Service Sacked

Prime Minister Zurab Zhvania dismissed on March 22 Chief of the Customs Department Levan Kistauri.

Prime Minister Zurab Zhvania told reporters today that Levan Kistauri failed to perform his duties, as “corruption rate in the department, as well as smuggling was not reduced.”

He said, Giorgi Godabrelidze will replace Kistauri. The Prime Minister warned the new chief to improve the situation within two months.
