Russia Minister Says Situation at Border with Georgia is Uneasy
(Tbilisi, July 17, 2003, Civil Georgia) – Situation at the Russian-Georgian border poses threat to Russia, Sergei Ivanov Russian Defense Minister said at the news briefing in the Krasnodar district of Russia on July 17.
“The situation on the Russian-Georgian border is uneasy, it poses a threat to our security, especially in summer,” the Russian media sources report quoting Defense Minister.
According to Sergei Ivanov, the 10th special purpose brigade of Russian armed forces was set up in the region to reinforce control at the border.
