Greek Citizen Shot Dead in Western Georgia

(Tbilisi, July 1, 2003, Civil Georgia) – Reports say ethnic Georgian Alexander Shartava, a citizen of Greece, was shot dead in Tsalenjikha, western Georgia late on June 30.

Shartava was murdered after his car was ambushed by the unknown armed men. Shartava was reportedly exporting lumber from Georgia.
