Money Transport Robbery in Western Georgia
(Tbilisi, June 19 2003, Civil Georgia) – Reports say 60.000 Lari (approximately USD 27.000) was stolen after the attack of the armed group on the vehicle transporting money for the displaced persons from Abkhazia, near the western Georgian town of Zugdidi.
Money was transported from the Zugdidi branch of Post Bank to the displaced persons living in the village of Rukhi, near the administrative border between the breakaway Abkhazia and the rest of Georgia.
