OSCE Preparing to Monitor Gudauta Military Base
(Tbilisi, June 15, Civil Georgia) – According to the Georgian Foreign Affairs Ministry experts from Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) will arrive in Sukhumi, breakaway Abkhazian capital to inspect the Russian military base at Gudauta.
Russia claims that it has already complied with its commitment in line with a 1999 OSCE Istanbul summit and withdrew soldiers from Gudauta.
Abkhazian side is against of participation of the Georgian side in the process of monitoring of the base.
Kakha Sikharulidze, Georgian Foreign Ministry Spokesman, said at the news briefing on June 14 that the monitoring would not be held without the participation of the Georgian side.
