Russia Has Initiated Constructing a Gas Pipeline in the Black Sea

According to Russian mass media maritime construction of pipeline “the Blue Flow” has already been initiated. “The Blue Flow” is a serious competitor of the Trans-Caspian gas pipeline and it is supposed to provide gas for Turkey. Trans-Caspian pipeline, on the other hand, is supposed to provide gas for northern Turkey through Azerbaijan and Georgia. “In case the construction of “the Blue Flow” has been indeed begun we should consider that our northern neighbor has been quicker than us again”, the Dilis Gazeti states.

The world was nihilistic about the project because the one like that had never been realized before. According to the project, gas pipeline is supposed to be put over 2 thousand meters beneath the sea. Russia had always regarded the project of strategic importance because it is profitable from both economic and political point of view.

Building the pipeline on land in almost over. The maritime construction (392.5 km) was initiated in Turkey yesterday.
