Khaindrava Slams Law Enforcers over Shooting Incident

Georgian State Minister for Conflict Resolution Issues Giorgi Khaindrava slammed on July 16 the Georgian law-enforcement agencies for not taking measures after an incident that occurred near the village of Kekhvi in the South Ossetian conflict zone, while he was trying to meet the relatives of four Georgians who went missing in the conflict zone early last month.

The brother of one of the missing men fired several shots in the air after the State Minister?s car started approaching the village of Kekhvi on July 14, where the relatives of these four missing men were blocking the road. In an interview with Georgian television channels he said that he opened fire to demonstrate his mistrust towards the State Minister.

?I am surprised that the law enforcers do not react to such actions against a high ranking official,? Giorgi Khaindrava told Rustavi 2 television on July 16.
