Russian Official: Disagreements Persist on Timeframe of Bases’ Pullout
Igor Savolsky, the Russian Foreign Ministry?s special envoy, who leads the Russian delegation at the talks over the military bases stationed in Georgia, told reporters upon his arrival in Tbilisi on April 13 that ?some disagreement persist over the timeframe? of the withdrawal of Russia?s two military bases from Batumi and Akhalkalaki. He refrained to further elaborate, but added that ?we will negotiate? despite this controversy.
The delegation of the Russian Foreign Ministry will hold talks in Tbilisi over a comprehensive framework agreement between Georgia and Russia as well.
