New Chief of Patrol Police Appointed
Giorgi Mgebrishvili, who became Interior Minister earlier this month, appointed on August 14 Goga Razmadze as new head of Patrol Police, replacing Davit Tsinaridze, who served on this post since late 2012.
Before becoming chief of the Patrol Police, Goga Razmadze served as deputy head of the internal investigations unit at the penitentiary ministry. Mgebrishvili was the prison system minister before becoming the interior minister. Before that Razmadze was an investigator at the chief prosecutor’s office.
Patrol Police is the most visible police unit whose officers conduct vehicle and foot patrols and are in charge of traffic enforcement, taking crime reports, protecting public order.
