Voter Turnout was 55% – CEC
Voter turnout in the May 21 parliamentary elections was 55%, the Central Election Commission (CEC), said late on Wednesday.
It said figure meant that 1,905,960 voters have cast their ballots out of total 3,465,736 registered voters.
Zurab Kachkachishvili, a spokesman of the Central Election Commission, said that vote tallies from the precincts started to be delivered at the CEC. The CEC plans to unveil preliminary results early on May 22.
The CEC spokesman also said that the results of “several polling stations” were annulled, adding that “I cannot say an exact number for now.”
