Planned Rotation Launched in Tskhinvali Region

A convoy of old military equipment, belonging to the North Ossetian peacekeeping battalion, is ready to be dispatched to Russia as part of a scheduled rotation.

Russia has already dispatched new armored vehicles to Georgia’s breakaway South Ossetia for the North Ossetian peacekeepers, who are part of the joint peacekeeping forces there.  The Georgian and Russian sides are also involved in the peacekeeping force.

The rotation process is being monitored by representatives from both the Russian and Georgian sides as well as the OSCE.
