Ethnic Ossetians Hold Rally at South Ossetian Border
Up to 300 ethnic Ossetians living in different parts of Georgia gathered in the evening of July 10 in the Georgian village of Tkviavi at the administrative border between breakaway South Ossetia and the rest of Georgia.
At the Georgian government-backed rally, ethnic Ossetians carry bilingual – Georgian-Ossetian banners calling on President of self-styled South Ossetian Republic Eduard Kokoev for resignation.
Protesters also called on the Georgian authorities not to yield to “Kokoev’s provocations.”
