Lavrov: It is up to Georgia to Defuse Tensions
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on October 5 that only by giving up its anti-Russian policy can Georgia help to resolve the problems between the two countries, Interfax news agency reported.
?I think it is necessary to undertake steps, but it is up to the Georgian leadership to take these steps. [The Georgian leadership] understands very well what the reason behind the current difficulties is,? Lavrov told reporters in Warsaw.
Meanwhile, reports say that police in Moscow continue to crackdown on businesses owned by ethnic Georgians and Georgian citizens. A third casino in Moscow was closed down by police overnight on October 5 for alleged financial irregularities, Echo Mosvky radio station reported.
