CEC Says it is Ready for Polls

Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) Guram Chalagashvili said on August 28 that the CEC is ready for holding transparent and democratic local self-governance elections scheduled for October 5.

?We are ready to hold these elections in accordance to the law and according to international standards,? Chalagashvili said at a news conference.

He said that the CEC will not create any obstacle to political parties in undergoing procedural registrations necessary to run in the elections.
