Patriarch of Georgian Orthodox Church, Ilia II, has called on the opposition and the authorities to immediately resolve tensions through a dialogue.

?And if there is a willingness of both sides, we are ready to intervene in this dialogue,? Ilia II said. ?I am deeply concerned about the current situation and confrontation between the opposition and authorities. I want to call on Georgia for restraint and calm. I hope a compromise will be possible through dialogue.?
