Military Service Delay Fee Rises

The Georgian Parliament approved on June 30 an initiative to increae a 200-Lari payment for postponement of compulsory military service by tenfold.
 
As a result a conscript under the age 25 can postpone his military service after paying GEL 2000 (approximately USD 1120) instead of previous GEL 200 (approximately USD 112). But a conscript can apply this rule only twice. The term of compulsory military service is 18 months.
