Russia Commander: No Delays in Base Pullout Process
A cargo train loaded with seven battle tanks, 10 armored vehicles and amphibious scout cars, as well as other military hardware belonging to the Russian military base in Akhalkalaki departed from Tsalka, southern Georgia, heading to the Russian Federation via Azerbaijan on May 15.
According to the Russo-Georgian agreement on the pullout of the bases, the Akhalkalaki military base should be completely vacated before December 31, 2007.
Deputy Commander of Russian Land Troops Valery Yevnevich told Interfax news agency that there are no delays in the withdrawal process.
