Khaindrava: Setting S.Ossetia Deadlines Unrealistic
Georgian State Minister for Conflict Resolution Issues Giorgi Khaindrava described the statement made by Defense Minister Irakli Okruashvili over South Ossetia’s reunification deadline as “unclear.”
Irakli Okruashvili said on May 1 that he will resign if Georgia fails to restore control over breakaway South Ossetian by January 1, 2007.
“Setting deadlines for resolution of this issue [South Ossetian conflict] is not realistic. This statement was made by Okruashvili and ask [referring to reporters] him about it. We have a peace plan and I am guided by this peace plan,” Giorgi Khaindrava told reporters on May 2.
