Russia Rotates Peacekeepers in Abkhazia

On December 1 Russia launched a planned rotation of its troops stationed in the Abkhaz conflict zone under the aegis of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), Apsnypress news agency reported.

The rotation is carried out once a year in accordance with the agreement on a ceasefire achieved between the conflicting sides in May 1994.
