Major Road Blocked in S.Ossetia

Georgian residents of the South Ossetian conflict zone blocked one of the unrecognized republic?s major roads north of the capital Tskhinvali on August 15 to protest against a brief detention of a group of Georgians by South Ossetian militias near the village of Kekhvi on August 14, the both Georgian and South Ossetian officials reported.

According to the South Ossetian Press and Information Committee a group of Georgians were ?illegally cutting wood,? a fact that resulted in their brief detention and the confiscation of their chainsaws by Ossetian police officers.
