MoD Wraps up Large-Scale Tank Drills
Georgian Defense Minister Irakli Okruashvili attended the closing ceremony of month-long military exercises under the codename Armor-2005 with the participation of about 170 tanks and armored vehicles in the Orpolo training ground, near the town of Akhaltsikhe in southern Georgia on July 18.
One of the scenarios of the exercises, carried out on July 18, envisaged exercised designed to repel occupying forces that may control one part of the country during an invasion.
400,000 Lari (up to USD 220,000) was spent for these exercises, according to the Defense Ministry.
