Media Speculates of Staff Changes in Government

The Georgian media reported unofficial information on July 12 that Chief of the President?s Administration Gigi Ugulava might replace Mayor of Tbilisi Zurab Tchiaberashvili. However, neither Tchiaberashvili nor Ugulava have confirmed these reports.

?Such rumors have a character of a well-planned campaign. If the President decides to appoint a new Mayor, he will himself inform the society about it,? Zurab Tchiaberashvili said on July 12.

According to this unofficial report, Zurab Tchiaberashvili will become either the Environment Minister or the Georgian Ambassador to the United States.
