Saakashvili Sees Abashidze as a Major Obstacle for Investments

President Saakashvili, who is visiting Polish capital Warsaw, said on April 28 that he expects “significant foreign investments in Georgia in five-six months.” However, he added that resolution of Adjara crisis would be vital in this regard.

“Everybody has witnessed that we are fighting corruption and already have first results in this regard. But if we don’t solve the problem of Aslan Abashidze [leader of defiant Adjarian Autonomy] there will be no investments in Georgia,” Georgian President told Tbilisi-based Imedi television.

“Georgia loses significant investments because of this man [Aslan Abashidze],” Mikheil Saakashvili added.
