Tax Department Official Arrested

Police arrested today Deputy Chairman of the Tax Department Vakhtang Chakhnashvili, who is accused by the law enforcers of misappropriation of 500,000 Lari (approximately $ 227,000).
 
Vakhtang Chakhnashvili will be interrogated at the General Prosecutor’s Office.
 
Prosecutor General Irakli Okruashvili said on January 29 that the investigation might reveal further violations in the Tax Department.
