Minor Blast Rocks MagtiCom’s Office in Tbilisi

Blast occurred early this morning at one of the branches of the mobile telecommunication service company MagtiCom Ltd. in downtown Tbilisi. No one was injured.

The blast blew out windows in the building. Police said explosive was apparently made with TNT and was placed outside the MagtiCom office, which is partly owned by Shevardnadze’s son-in-law Giorgi Jokhtaberidze.

The law enforcers said the blast was not “as powerful as it was at the State TV and Radio Corporation” on December 3.

State Security Minister Valeri Khaburdzania said on December 9 that certain forces aim at triggering panic among the population on the eve of the presidential elections; “however situation is not as alarming as it seems,” he added.
