(Tbilisi. November 27. Civil Georgia) – Guerrillas fighting in Chechnya against Russian military forces actively try to infiltrate Georgia recently, news agency Interfax reports, quoting combined federal forces headquarters in Northern Caucasus.
Russian Defense Ministry reported on November 26 that 100 rebels were destroyed after the bombing of territory near Russian-Georgian border.
Russian Defense Ministry considers mountainous regions in Georgia the best shelter for rebels in winter. Russian officials accuse Georgia in harboring Chechen guerrillas in Pankisi gorge, bordering Chechnya. Officials in Tbilisi deny the accusation.
