(Tbilisi, November 7, 2001. Civil.ge) Mikheil Saakashvili, influential reformer MP announced that the personality of the new parliamentary chairman is of no decisive importance. “Preliminary parliamentary elections were promised to the protesting people [on November 1] and the promise should be upheld,” he stated.
Current bargaining just redirects people’s attention from the key issues, he added. Saakashvili stated that he would head consolidation of the new, supra-partisan national movement that will call for decisive changes in the country. “It is possible Zurab Zhvania joins it”, Saakashvili said.
