British Mediterranean Airways Conducts Charter Flights in Georgia

(Tbilisi. April 18, 2003. Civil Georgia) – British Mediterranean Airways, which is a franchise partner to British Airways, continues to operate charter flights between Tbilisi and London, the company?s Tbilisi office spokesperson Tamuna Shanidze told Civil Georgia today.

The Georgian authorities canceled the flight license to the British Mediterranean Airways and the Turkish Airlines from April 15, explaining decision with unpaid taxes, inadequate legal basis and unsolved disputes with the Georgian flagship company Airzena.

Shanidze said the British Mediterranean Airways will conduct charter flights before April 29.

?Meanwhile, British ambassador in Tbilisi holds talks with the Georgia authorities to resume regular flights,? the British company?s spokesperson said.
