Russia’s Emergency Situations Minister Visits Tskhinvali

Russia’s Emergency Situations Minister, Sergei Shoigu, arrived in breakaway South Ossetia’s capital, Tskhinvali, on August 24 attending a ceremony of delivery of 116 tons of Russia’s humanitarian aid to the region.

Eleven trucks of the Russia’s Emergency Situations Ministry delivered two mobile power generators and food staff.

Prime minister of the breakaway region Vadim Brovtsev and emergency situations minister Anatoly Bibilov, who reportedly has been picked up by the Kremlin as the next South Ossetian leader, were present at the ceremony. Incumbent leader of the breakaway region, Eduard Kokoity, was absent.
