Georgia’s ‘New Group of Friends’ to Meet in Romania
Officials from an informal group known as the “New Friends of Georgia,” which unites Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Poland, Bulgaria, Romania will meet in the Romanian capital Bucharest on November 9 to discuss integration into NATO and EU, as well as regional cooperation, the Georgian Foreign Ministry reported.
Georgian Foreign Minister Gela Bezhuashvili will participate in the meeting. This will be the first foreign visit by Gela Bezhuashvili in the capacity of Foreign Minister.
The main task of Georgia?s New Group of Friends, which was formed earlier in 2004, is to provide support and assistance to Georgia on its route towards integrating into the European and Euro-Atlantic Structures and add a spur to the ongoing process of political, economic and administrational reforms in Georgia.
