Armenian PM to Visit Georgia
Armenian PM Hovik Abrahamyan will start a working visit to Georgia on July 25 during which he will also take a trip to Zemo Larsi-Kazbegi border crossing point between Georgia and Russia.
Armenian PM’s office said that Abrahamyan will be visiting Georgia to attend opening ceremony of the European Youth Olympic Festival in Tbilisi on Sunday.
It also said that Abrahamyan will visit the Georgian-Russian border in Dariali together with the Georgian counterpart Irakli Garibashvili.
The road in the Dariali gorge, leading up to the border crossing point with Russia, is also important for Yerevan as it is currently the only available land link with Russia for Armenia.
This section of the road was closed twice last year because of the major landslides in May and August, 2014. A natural hazard warning prompted to restrict traffic in Dariali gorge twice last month.
