Garibashvili Calls on GDDG Activists to Engage Actively in Campaign Ahead of Local Elections

PM Irakli Garibashvili, who is chairman of Georgian Dream-Democratic Georgia (GDDG) party, called on activists and members of the party to engage actively in the “renewal” process of GDDG and in campaign ahead of the local elections.

GDDG, which is part of the six-party Georgian Dream ruling coalition, was founded by Bidzina Ivanishvili two years.

“We are moving to the new stage of renewal of party and its structures and your participation in this process is of utmost importance for party leadership,” Garibashvili said in a video address to his party members and activists on February 20.

“We know that many of those people, who were involved in building of this party from its very first day, have a sense that their dedication has not been properly appreciated yet. Difficulties, which the country went through, are to be blamed for this. Fortunately we have overcome these difficulties together with dignity,” he said.

“Local elections lie ahead of us in which the Georgian Dream coalition will win with dignity together with you. So I assure you that not a single person, who has worked tirelessly and with commitment and fought with us, will be left without attention and disgruntled,” Garibashvili said.

“I call on each and every member and activist of the party to be active and to participate in our meetings, party conferences and to contribute to its renewal and strengthening.”

Garibashvili said that, GDDG “accomplished almost impossible” since it was launched two years ago. “It came into power through elections and became successful political force,” he said, adding the GDDG will “further strengthen” and become “modern European type of the party.”
