New Rights Party Figure Quits Politics
Irakli Iashvili of the New Rights Party, who was a lawmaker in the previous parliament, said on June 9 he was quitting politics.
He told journalists that he had been thinking of quitting politics for over a year but hadn’t done so because of “heated political processes.” He also said that he planned to go back into business.
Before entering politics in 1999, Iashvili was the general director of Georgian Trans Expedition – a company involved in cargo transport.
