Georgia Eased Visa Requirements
Starting from September 9 Georgia simplified visa rules, as a result of which all foreigners traveling to Georgia will be able to obtain Georgian visas directly in the airports of Tbilisi and Batumi, or at any other border checkpoint.
No formal invitation letters are needed, as well. The visas can also be obtained at the consular offices of the Georgian embassies abroad.
According to the amendments to the Law of Georgia on Consular Fees, which became effective from September 9, visa tariffs have been reduced.
One-month visa will cost USD 10; three-month ? USD 30 and the price for annual visa will be reduced from current USD 200 to USD 100.
Georgian Foreign Minister Salome Zourabichvili told reporters on September 8, that these moves aim at attracting more foreign tourists to Georgia.
