MP Becomes Governor of Kakheti

President Saakashvili appointed ruling party lawmaker Levan Bezhashvili as governor of the eastern region of Kakheti, replacing Gia Natsvlishvili.

Levan Bezhashvili, who served as chairman of the parliamentary committee for legal issues, was actively engaged in the recent consultations with the opposition.

Four provincial governors have been replaced since the January 5 presidential election.
