Tbilisi to Ignore Kokoity’s Meeting with Chief Negotiators

South Ossetian leader Eduard Kokoity will meet negotiators from the quadripartite Joint Control Commission (JCC) in Tskhinvali on December 27, South Ossetian chief negotiator Boris Chochiev said, as quoted by the South Ossetian Press and Information Committee.

The Georgian side has refused to participate in the meeting, instead offering “an informal meeting” between the co-chairmen of the JCC, which involves negotiators from the Georgian, Russian, South Ossetia and Russia’s North Ossetian sides.

“The sides will discuss the problems accumulated in the negotiating process and will search for ways out of the current situation, where the Georgian side is thwarting the negotiating process. We will also discuss mutually acceptable proposals on the peaceful settlement of the Georgian-Ossetian conflict,” Chochiev said.
