OSCE Proposes High-Level Talks over South Ossetia

Georgian State Minister for Conflict Resolution Issues Giorgi Khaindrava, who is visiting Moscow to participate in the Joint Control Commission (JCC) session over South Ossetia, said on October 24 that the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Dimitrij Rupel has proposed that the sides hold high-level talks in Ljubljana, Slovenia in November, Russian Echo Moskvy radio station reported.


“This initiative involves the meeting of representatives of the sides at the level of the Foreign Ministers of Russia and Georgia, with the participation of the OSCE and the South Ossetian side,” Giorgi Khaindrava said.


Russian chief negotiator for the South Ossetian conflict, Valerie Kenyaikin, who represents the Russian side at the JCC, also confirmed on October 24 that this meeting might take place in Ljubljana.
