Zourabichvili Plans to Run in Parliamentary Elections

Ex-Foreign Minister Salome Zourabichvili said that she does not intend to join any political party, however confirmed her intentions to run in parliamentary elections planned for 2008.

Salome Zourabichvili was speaking on the new late night talk show on Tbilisi-based Rustavi 2 television on October 20.

When she was asked whether she plans to run in the presidential election sin 2009, Salome Zourabichvili responded: ?I do not know about the Presidential elections, but I will definitely run in the [parliamentary elections].?

?At this stage I am not going to join any opposition party; of course this does not mean a civilized cooperation with some of them [political parties]… But I also do not rule out that at the certain stage I will have to form my one political party, but I do not know yet,? Zourabichvili said.
