Saakashvili Meets Zourabichvili
Foreign Minister Salome Zourabichvili said after meeting with President Saakashvili in the evening on October 19, that the President has not yet decided whether to back the calls of leading parliamentarians for the Foreign Minister?s dismissal.
?The President has not yet decided. He plans to hold some additional consultations and will make a final decision; I do not know when, maybe tonight or tomorrow,? Zourabichvili told reporters after talks with President Saakashvili.
?We had a very good conversation. We have fully discussed everything. I do not know what will be his final decision,? she added.
Following the demand by parliamentarians from the ruling National Movement party, which was also supported by Parliamentary Chairperson Nino Burjanadze, to dismiss the Foreign Minister, President Saakashvili launched consultations on October 19, including with the senior lawmakers, Prime Minister Zurab Nogaideli and Salome Zourabichvili.
