Opposition Parties Agree to Coordinate Policy in Parliament

Parliamentarians from the opposition New Rights, Conservative and Republican parties agreed on September 7 to a joint strategy for coordinating their activities in the Parliament.

?We [the opposition] want to coordinate our efforts during the new plenary sessions,? Zviad Dzidziguri, of the Conservatives party, told Civil Georgia on September 7.

He said the opposition will no longer boycott the Parliament?s sessions. The opposition parliamentarians started boycotting after the ruling National Movement party passed the government?s proposal regarding the new rule of electing a City Council and the Tbilisi City Mayor in July.
