Opposition Claims Government Pressures State Television

MP Pikria Chikhradze from the New Rights-Industrialist opposition coalition said, at a Parliament session on February 22, that the government continues to put pressure on the state television.
 
?Coverage of our [the Rightist Opposition?s] events or statements is blocked through direct instructions [from the government],? MP Pikria Chikhradze said.
 
She also said it is unclear ?why Channel One of the State Television claims that it is Public Television, while the law on public television [which was recently adopted by the Parliament] will be enforced only starting from 2006.?
