Coast Guard May Merge with the Navy

Sources at the Ministry of Defense of Georgia say that the Coast Guard, currently under the command of the Border Guard Department of the Ministry of Interior, may merge with the Navy, under the command of the Ministry of Defense.

According to the source, this possible decision will be discussed at the National Security Council and is in line with foreign military experts’ recommendations.
