Parliament Failed to Amend Election Code

The Parliament failed today to approve amendments to the election code, envisaging simplifying ballot procedures.

The preliminary, unofficial voting showed that there were not enough MPs at the session to pass the amendments.

Parliamentary Chairperson Nino Burjanadze expressed regret that the Parliament failed to adopt the amendment, “which were recommended by the OSCE.”

Today the outgoing Parliament held its last session.
