Kmara Activists Released in Adjara

Three activists of the youth movement Kmara (Enough), which is in the opposition to the Adjarian leadership, were released today.

The Adjarian police arrested Kmara activists on January 6. Interior Ministry of the Adjara Autonomous Republic accused them of possessing weapons and drugs.

However, the central authorities of Georgia condemned arrests as politically motivated and demanded from the Adjarian leaders to stop prosecution of the persons “with merely different opinions.”
