CEC Announces Results of Votes Recounting
(Tbilisi, Civil Georgia, November 2, 2002) – On November 1 Central Election Commission announced results of recounting of votes cast during the local self-governance election in Tbilisi.
As anticipated the results of recounting are not much different from that announced after the June 2 elections.
The New National Movement and the Labors Party of Georgia are in the top of the list of those 7 parties, which could overcome the voting barrier and obtain seats in Tbilisi city council – Sakrebulo.
Despite of announcement of results the convene of Sakrebulo might be delayed again because the Peoples Party and the Socialists intend to appeal to the court to annul the results of the election because, as they claim, it was held with numerous procedural violations.
