President Nominated Candidate for Justice Minister’s Post
President Shevardnadze nominated Mariam Tsatsanashvili, the president’s parliamentary secretary, to the post of Justice Minister today.
Reportedly, the document has already been submitted to the Parliament for consideration. The proposal will be discussed after November 2 parliamentary elections by the new Parliament.
Former Justice Minister Roland Giligashvili resigned on September 15, in the wake of the September 10 mass jailbreak, during which 129 convicts escaped from the Rustavi top security prison near Tbilisi. 77 jailbreakers a recaptured so far.
