Russia Disseminates Putin’s Statement in the UN

(Tbilisi, September 12, Civil Georgia) – Russian Foreign Affairs Minister Igor Ivanov sent the statement of Russian President Vladimir Putin concerning the situation in Georgia to the UN Secretary General and the UN Security Council on September 12, Russian news agencies report.

“Fight against terrorism will be the main issue at the UN assembly [which opens on September 12]. We will raise the issue with Georgia, from where the terrorist regularly infiltrate into Russian Federation,” Igor Ivanov told the reporters.

Russian President Putin set an ultimatum to the Georgia, identifying the country as a source of terrorist threat. He ordered the Russian Defense Ministry to outline the plans for pre-emptive strikes against the terrorist bases in Georgia.
